Verifying that you have surround sound(Surround/Quad/4.1/5.1/7.1) configured correctly.

There are two ways to configure your surround setup, it depends on what card you have and whom manufactured it.

First: Using the Sound and Audio devices panel in Windows
1. go to the start menu and click on the Control Panel.



2. Click on the Sound, Speech and Audio devices icon.



3. Click on the Sounds and Audio devices icon.



4. In the Speaker Settings area, click the Advanced... button


4. In the window that appears, click the drop down menu called Speaker Setup and select your audio configuration(Surround, Quad, 5.1, 7.1 etc)


Second: Using the configuration tool that came with your sound card.
1. Go to the start menu and into the All Programs menu, locate the folder/program that was installed when you installed the drivers/software for your audio card.



2. Go to the menu/tab/program that says anything about Setup/Speakers or Surround configuration. The following are only two examples, the actual appearance can be very different depending on type and manufacture of the card.
